Accounting Manager

As Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with Belgian accounting legislation and supporting the ongoing evolution of our finance function.

Working closely with management, operational teams, external partners and finance colleagues, you will help build a modern, efficient and scalable accounting environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of the Belgian GAAP accounting platform while supporting and training the accounting team during the transition.
  • Take full ownership of end-to-end accounting activities across multiple entities.
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings.
  • Ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP standards and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and review VAT returns, tax filings and regulatory declarations.
  • Produce accurate financial reports, analyses and management information.
  • Develop reporting tools, dashboards and process improvements using Excel and modern finance systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (auditors, tax advisors, software providers) to drive insights, improve processes and support additional Granit companies.

Profile

You are someone who combines strong accounting expertise with a hands-on and pragmatic mindset. You enjoy taking ownership, improving processes and helping others grow. You feel comfortable operating both at a detailed accounting level and in discussions with management.

  • Strong accounting expertise combined with a hands-on and pragmatic mindset.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, including extensive knowledge of Belgian GAAP and financial closings.
  • Experience with VAT returns, statutory reporting and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and lead change initiatives or system implementations.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coach and support colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and professional working proficiency in English.

Experience with ERP systems and/or multi-entity organisations is considered an asset.
