The Residence Inn, located in the south of Ghent near the Ghelamco Football Arena and major motorways, is a modern extended-stay hotel, boasting 105 self-catering apartments. Opened in 2019, Belgium’s first Residence Inn has quickly risen to become a leader in the local market.
In addition to these two iconic hotels, our owners are in the process of developing an additional hotel & meeting centre that we aim to open in the next 2 years.
The hotels are managed by Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA, is a division of the global Aimbridge Hospitality brand. We manage over 1,600 hotels and resorts worldwide that include big brands such as Hilton, Accor, Marriott and IHG as well as small independent hotels and everything in between, including a portfolio of prestigious hotels in Ghent.
To expand our business, we are now looking for a Senior Sales and Events manager with a passion for sales and hospitality, to grow business for the exceptional properties.
A day in the life of…
As a Senior Sales and Events Manager, your role involves supporting the creation of the Sales and Events commercial plan and aligning strategies for business development and revenue maximisation.
You'll build relationships with Key Account Directors/Managers, seek new business in relevant segments, and utilise brand initiatives.
Ensuring appropriate sales structures, leading and developing the team, and fostering a Sales culture is essential. Strong relationships with brand Sales and Marketing teams, adherence to brand standards, and evaluating ROI are crucial.
You'll also prepare reports and presentations, and actively cross-sell the Aimbridge properties.
What do we need from you?
To be successful in this role you have a:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related significant experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
- Experience in organizing events in a hotel setting.
- Experience in multi-property or cluster hotel role.
- Multi-language skills with at least proficiency in Dutch, English and French would be advantageous.
- Have multiple years of experience in a senior sales role where you have managed sales colleague(s).
- Preferably have a business network within the Ghent region.
