In October 2025, Courtyard by Marriott Ghent will open its doors. With 174 stylish rooms, inspiring communal spaces, and a unique collaboration with two other hotels and a state-of-the-art event center, we are building a vibrant hospitality hub in the heart of Ghent’s business district, Akkerhage.

To drive the commercial development of this brand-new hotel, we are looking for a Sales Manager who proactively explores market opportunities and becomes a key commercial face of Courtyard. You report to the Director of Sales and work closely with the cluster team and operational colleagues.

A peek behind the scenes of your role
As Sales Manager, you are responsible for building strong business relationships and achieving commercial goals.

• You execute proactive sales strategies to attract new clients and strengthen existing accounts.
• You detect market trends and commercial opportunities in both the corporate and leisure sectors.
• You organize compelling site tours, presentations, and sales pitches.
• You work closely with operational teams and colleagues within the cluster to ensure a consistent guest experience.
• You help build Courtyard’s visibility in the local and national market through networking and event presence.
• You report regularly to the Director of Sales on your results, leads, and market insights.
  

Who are we looking for?

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, hotel management, economics, tourism, or equivalent.
• You have at least a few years of experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• You speak fluent Dutch and good English. Knowledge of an additional language (French, German, Spanish…) is a plus.
• You are digitally savvy and familiar with CRM systems, PMS, reporting tools, and online communication platforms.
• You know how to convincingly present our added value—whether you're speaking to a CEO or a travel agent.

Our location is easy to reach, no matter where you're coming from. The hotel is located at Akkerhage 2B, 9000 Ghent, near exit 9 (U.Z. Ghent) of the E17 highway. Arriving by car? Public transport is also nearby: tram and bus stops are within walking distance with smooth connections via De Lijn.
